  • Research summary

A number of relatively common painful conditions affect the human jaw joint and its related structures. Current research and professional opinion find that a small group of early, patient self-care interventions, are helpful in managing symptoms in the majority of these.
This trial will look at patient understanding of a range of well-acknowledged self-care techniques and interventions through the use of questionnaires prior to their appointment on a specialist referral clinic.
This information gathered may help guide planning of further post graduate training or wider patient information.
