Research summary
This study is the development of an intervention aimed at people with early stage dementia. This encompasses signposting to local resources, and aims to help encourage participants and their supporters/families to maintain a healthy lifestyle, (e.g., help with smoking cessation), keep physically active (e.g., walking groups) and the use of computers and games. This will be guided by a dementia advice worker, recruited from Memory Clinics and the voluntary sector. Participants will receive up to three sessions, with between session advice if needed. Participants will complete questionnaires at the start and end of the study as well as being asked to feed back about their experience of the intervention. This feedback will be used to further develop our intervention before the start of a large randomised controlled trial.
