    The aim of the study is to gather information on the clinical features of pregnancy associated osteoporosis to gain insights into the causes of this rare, but severe form of osteoporosis. People who have been diagnosed with pregnancy associated osteoporosis will be invited to complete an online questionnaire which will gathering details of potential risk factors for osteoporosis, family history, the age at which the diagnosis was made and how the condition affected them. Participants will also be invited to give consent to the research team contacting their general practitioner and/or hospital specialists who were responsible for their clinical care at the time of the diagnosis to gather information on investigations and treatment given at the time of the original diagnosis. The online questionnaire will also gather data on the participants current health and measures of health related quality of life. Participants will be invited to consent to providing a blood sample for genetic and biochemical analyses to evaluate the role of possible genetic factors in the pathogenesis of the condition. Finally participants will be asked to draw the study to the attention of a friend of similar age who had a pregnancy at a similar time. Their friend will also be invited to complete an online questionnaire, to consent to the study team contacting their normal health care provider to give about details of their bone health and to provide a blood sample for biochemical and genetic analysis.
