Research summary
This project comprises three branches examining STEPPS (Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving), which is a skills-based group treatment delivered within NHS mental health services for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). There are three branches of the study and each branch will be written up by one student, however all data will be collected in one procedure. Data will be collected from community mental health recovery services (CMHRS) that are running the group, across three NHS Trusts.
Branch one will investigate factors predicting quality of life following STEPPS group treatment. Branch two will investigate factors predicting change in BPD symptom severity. Branch three will investigate mechanisms of change in STEPPS (i.e. which factors within the treatment cause symptom change to occur).
