Research summary
The proposed questionnaire-based study has been designed to evaluate patient perceptions regarding the appearance of their ears both before and after surgery for prominent ear correction using a combination treatment comprised of a novel, minimally invasive method utilising Earfold™ implants and conchal bowl reduction.
The study will identify all patients who have undergone this surgical intervention under the care of the Chief Investigator. The patients will be contacted via telephone and will be asked to fill out validated questionnaires (Ear-Q and SF-10/SF-12) pertaining to both their pre- and post-operative perception of external ear appearance as well as answer a series of questions pertaining to possible complications related to the surgery. The questionnaires will be sent out via postmail together with the patient information sheet and a consent form.
