  • Research summary

Socioeconomically deprived people in the UK are more likely to develop kidney failure but are less likely to receive a living-donor kidney transplant than people from less deprived areas. Using a questionnaire study we will assess if deprivation (measured both at an ecological and individual level) affects knowledge and beliefs about living kidney transplantation. We will also examine whether deprivation affects the number of people kidney patients could ask to be a donor. This pilot study will precede a full scale questionnaire based study.
