  • Research summary

Posterior Ligament Complex injuries occur with spinal fractures. It is important in the treatment of these injuries to identify if they are present or absent and this study is evaluating whether simple measurements from a CT image can predict this. Current practice requires an MRI as well, which has significant cost and patient management implications in spinal trauma. CT scan is standard in all major trauma, so this principle could remove the need for MRI scan and increase the diagnostic sensitivity.
