    To explore the perspectives of bereaved parent’s/guardians of their experience of bereavement care and support received by themselves from their POONS nurse and POONS on-call service.

    Ultimately the researcher aims to explore the support and experiences of bereaved parents/guardians in relation to the bereavement care provided by their POONS, before, at time of death and after the death of their child to cancer.
    The primary outcome of this project is to explore the research question;

    “POONS and Paediatric Palliative Care- What is their role in providing bereavement care?
    – A bereaved Parent’s/Guardian’s perspective”

    • An understanding of how parent’s/guardians perceive the POONS role in the provision of bereavement support; and

    • Identify any unmet bereavement needs/additional support that can be met by POONS.
