Research summary
This study will be an exploration into the views of the elderly regarding polypharmacy and medication. 10-15 participants who are aged 60 years or older, are taking four or more prescription medicines and speaks English will be recruited to take part in a semi-structured interview. It is hoped that through this qualitative research the views and beliefs of the elderly in their use of medicines at home, medication management difficulties and strategies can be identified and explored in depth. Other relevant topics such as participant's experiences of side effects as well as usage of over-the-counter drugs will also be explored.
