• Research summary

  The research is being conducted on the link between a stomach hormone and Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's disease with dementia, Alzheimers Disease and Dementia with Lewy Bodies, and healthy controls. We will measure a hormone called ghrelin in the subjects blood samples pre and post a meal test (Ensure Plus nutrition shake 350 calories in 237 mls). We wish to determine if the levels of ghrelin correlate with memory function. At the same time we will look at whether factors from subjects blood may be damaging nerve cells.
