Research summary
The female reproductive tract (FRT) possesses distinct traits that influence how drugs interact within the body. Despite its significance, there is limited data regarding drug distribution in the FRT. Understanding these concentrations is critical for optimising pharmacological treatments in gynaecological conditions and reproductive health.
This novel study aims to investigate the levels of commonly prescribed medications in the FRT by collecting and analysing tissue and blood samples from female patients undergoing benign gynaecological surgeries. The goal is to understand drug distribution along the FRT which could revolutionise therapeutic strategies and improve patient outcomes.
