Research summary
This is a qualitative research project which aims to explore the experiences and perspectives on death and dying in the UK of patients and bereaved family caregivers (BFCG). It comprises two workstreams. In workstream 1 up to 20 patients who are aware that they have a diagnosis of a terminal illness will take part in a one-off interview, exploring their experiences and expectations of care and anticipation of end of life. In workstream 2 up to 20 bereaved family caregivers will take part in a one-off interview, exploring their experiences and current perspectives on end of life care. Potential participants will be identified and approached by healthcare professionals.
