Research summary
The Personal Social Services Survey of Adult Carers in England is a biennial survey and covers informal, unpaid carers aged 18 or over, caring for a person aged 18 or over. The results of the survey will be used by national and local government to monitor the quality of their social care services and to inform policy and practice. Carers are sent questionnaires, issued by Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities (CASSRs), to seek their opinions on a number of topics that are considered to be indicative of a balanced life alongside their caring role. Local authorities will select participants at random from their records, send out questionnaires by post, collate the responses, and transmit non-identifiable data to NHS Digital by secure electronic transfer.
NHS Digital will analyse the data and publish a report on the results.REC name
