Research summary
Information processing speed plays an important role in many cognitive functions and is a key element in general intelligence. However, there is a lack of research regarding how neuropsychological tests of information processing speed relate to one another and also how they relate to tests that explore other cognitive functions (e.g., memory, executive functioning, visuospatial, etc.). In the current study the aim will be to examine whether there are any differences in the performance within and between a group of patients with Multiple Sclerosis and a non-neurologically impaired control group of participants, on four common tests of information processing speed. It is hoped that this investigation will provide further understanding of underlying cognitive skills, which may contribute to the performance on common tests of information processing speed.
