Research summary
The purpose of this study is to investigate the myeloma patients' perceptions and experiences of whole-body imaging techniques used for the diagnosis and identification of multiple myeloma bone lesions. The three imaging techniques being investigated are skeletal survey, whole-body computed tomography (WBCT) and whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WBMRI).
Qualitative and quantitative data relating to the myeloma patients' experiences of whole-body imaging will be collected through an online or paper survey.
The data will be used to find out if the patient has a preference for a particular whole-body imaging technique, and to demonstrate what factors, both relating to the radiology examination and the patients' intrinsic factors (e.g. pain, anxiety), influence the patient's acceptability or perceived burden of the different whole-body imaging techniques.
