Data collection arrangements
All women seen in the pelvic floor scan clinic at Croydon University Hospital are included in the database. This includes women with vaginal mesh with ongoing problems such as pain, also patients with suspected urethral diverticula and vaginal cysts. This will include patient information including date of birth, patient ID, date of the clinic and reason for attending the clinic and past gynaecological history. The findings of the pelvic floor ultrasound including transperineal and transvaginal scan will be recorded.
All patients attending the clinic will be included in the database unless they express that they don't want to be included. Data from 2016 onwards is already held on the database. All data collected is required for normal healthcare provision.
Other medical history not required for healthcare provision will not be collected. When patients are seen in the clinic the clinical information needed will be collected and stored on a data sheet. This information will include previous delivery details, current symptoms and ultrasound scan reports. The data sheets are then entered into the database by the research fellow.Research programme
Observational studies will be undertaken using the data. The specialist field is within women's health, in particular pelvic floor trauma related to childbirth and insertion of mesh for incontinence surgery within urogynaecology.
