    TITLE: Development and evaluation of a novel integrated cross-border clinical healthcare service model that will increase access to care for people living with obesity; PEACETIME project

    DESIGN: Single-arm clinical programme

    AIMS: To evaluate a novel integrated cross-border clinical healthcare service model for people living with obesity.

    PRIMARY OUTCOME: Quality of life.

    SECONDARY OUTCOMES: Clinical markers of health; health empowerment and self-management, health economics, patient and healthcare staff satisfaction.
    Outcomes will be measured before (Week 0) and at Week 24 and Week 52 of the programme.

    POPULATION: Individuals (n=9000) living with obesity

    ELIGIBILITY: Individuals ≥ 18 years old, living in the NorthWest area of Ireland with Body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 kg/m2 and at least one obesity-related complication (NI; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, RoI; other complication).

    PROGRAMME DESIGN: PEACETIME is a 52-week hybrid obesity treatment programme delivered by a primary-care based, multi-disciplinary team using an e-health component, with a strong emphasis on quality of life, mental health, person empowerment and self-management.

    PROJECT DURATION: 4 years
