Data collection arrangements
Cardiovascular and Respiratory physiology measurements collected at Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH) NHS Foundation trust from the earliest available recorded measurement onwards, will be stored in research databases for use by members of the care team who hold a full or honorary contract with RPH. Data will be extracted directly from the testing software and the database assembled by members of the cardiovascular and respiratory physiology departments. The database will be securely stored on an encrypted drive at RPH. It will be released to researches upon reasonable request to a data access committee, after completion of a application form.
Research programme
The research databases will support the generation of novel research in the fields of cardiovascular and respiratory physiology. Patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary vascular, neuromuscular, and respiratory diseases, perform physiological measurements as part of diagnosis and disease management. The research database will produce research that will inform patient care pathways, change patient management, and aid the development of new testing procedures that reduce patient burden.
