Research summary
This study is designed to understand patients' perceptions of the informed consent process in cancer clinical trials. Following a systematic literature review and interview with two Research Nurses at BSUH, it is clear that informed consent is complex and challenging and little is understood about patients' perceptions of this process at BSUH. Patients who are currently enrolled on a cancer clinical trial will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their perception of their informed consent, and their overall satisfaction with different aspects of informed consent and their clinical trial. In doing this, we aim to understand, and hopefully improve, patients' experience of the informed consent process for patients entering cancer clinical trials at BSUH.
