Research summary
This research project will aim to analyse the pain experience of orthodontic treatment. Patients receive orthodontic fixed appliance treatment (Fixed on braces) commonly on the NHS. It is a procedure which has been shown can cause some discomfort to patients. The aim of this project will be attempt to quantify the pain associated with fixed on braces compared to patients expectations of discomfort by using a questionnaire. The questionnaire will be given to patients before, during and after treatment with fixed on braces to compare patient expectation of pain with fixed braces to actual pain experienced with fixed on braces.
