Research summary
Hip fracture is one of the most detrimental events in the life of an older adult. Across the UK health care professionals take steps to improve how adults with hip fracture are assessed and surgically treated in hospital. However, we still know very little about the effectiveness of rehabilitation in hospital after hip fracture surgery.
We would like to start by getting a better understanding of patient and caregiver experience of rehabilitation in hospital after hip fracture surgery. More specifically their experience of the timing, frequency, intensity, type, and duration of rehabilitation. We would also like to know whether patients and their caregivers perceive any barriers to rehabilitation and recovery after hip fracture surgery.REC name
