  • Research summary

Digital health and remote assessment technologies offer valuable opportunities to clinicians and dementia researchers for screening, diagnosis and monitoring. However, there are many perceived barriers to remote assessment adoption in memory clinic populations including the patients age, cognitive impairment and risk of marginalising those who do not have access to or confidence using technology. This study aims to assess patient access to and experience with digital technologies, as well as preferences and confidence using digital technology for remote assessment.

Patients will be identified from OHFT memory clinics and invited to complete a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions, 6 of which are optional, which should take 10 minutes to complete. Participants may also choose to complete a brief 30-second online task, as an example of digitalised cognitive assessment. This task involves pressing a circle on the screen when it turns black and must be completed on a smartphone or tablet/iPad. Participants may use their own device or an OBHC iPad.

All data collected will be anonymous
