  • Research summary

Receiving an antenatal diagnosis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) often with subsequent intensive care of the baby is a distressing and traumatic life event. This study seeks to gain parent perspectives on what information is given and how it is communicated (information provision) in the setting of antenatal consultation and on the neonatal intensive care unit. Ten sets of parents will be interviewed about their experience and data thematically analysed. Data will be used to suggest improvements in information provision with a focus on understanding the decision making process.
