    This qualitative study aims to examine the parental lived experience of the involuntary admission of their adult son to forensic mental health service. Parents will be recruited from NHS forensic services and the Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services (QNFMHS) service user group. Other NHS sites and non-NHS organisations will be approached at a later date if more participants are required for this study. Parental experience will be explored via individual semi-structured interviews. Interviews will be conducted remotely via telephone or videoconferencing platforms. An interview schedule has been developed to guide the interview process. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis will be utilised to analyse interview data.
