Research summary
This is a retrospective study which aims to set up a large database including all the patients who have been treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital for pancreatic adenocarcinoma between January 1999 and January 2014, and whose tumour tissue is available for biomarker analyses. This retrospective database will be used as a valuable platform to analyse the incidence and the predictive/prognostic value of several biomarkers. Although non coding RNAs and molecular classifications based on gene-expression profiling are currently the main focus of this study, other biomarkers including but not limited to DNA copy number changes, DNA methylation and metabolites may be considered for analysis.
