Research summary
Polypharmacy is increasingly recognised in children and young people. However, the burden and impact of polypharmacy has not been explored. There is considerable data on elderly patients, but the effects on children and young people, as well as the wider family, are likely to be different and this study will undertaken a questionnaire study to assess this. Children and young people attending Alder Hey Children's Hospital will be eligible for recruitment, provided they meet the inclusion criteria of using 5 or more medicines.
