Research summary
This is a regional study to determine whether point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) can be used to identify the correct position of a breathing tube tip within the airway of children aged 0-15 in two paediatric intensive care units (PICU). We aim to see whether POCUS can be used rather than using a chest x-ray (CXR), therefore avoiding unnecessary exposure to ionising radiation in this patient group in the future. We want to see whether it is first possible and also whether this could be reproducible in all age groups of children from 0-15.
