Data collection arrangements
The Oxford Hip Intervention Patients for Osteoarthritis (OxHIP) database is a research registry containing the clinical features, medical images, treatment information and clinical outcomes of consenting patients attending the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC), Oxford diagnosed with hip osteoarthritis and undergoing an intervention. Use of the anonymised data will allow for improved understanding of the long-term nature and measure the effect of various interventions for hip osteoarthritis.
Research programme
The registry will serve as a resource to researchers both internal to the NOC and external in the UK. Access to the anonymised data is granted through application to the Data Access Committee following ethics approval. Participants in the registry will also have the choice of consenting to being contacted about future research.
