Research summary
The study aims to identify the role of novel biomarkers in patients with peripheral vascular disease, with particular reference to markers present within peri-operative period and/or acute setting. In evaluating individual markers in patients undergoing intervention, we aim to highlight those linked to disease progression and intervention response.
The study will use a multi-modal approach to assess the systemic changes during and after intervention. Results may be compared to a cohort of control sujects, and outcomes include; analysis of disease progression, prediction of re-stenosis rate, quantification of disease and effects of medications used for the purposes of treatment.
