Research summary
This study is a database review of severely injured trauma patients (those with an injury severity score >15) who are taken to Trauma Units rather than to the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) in the Severn Trauma Network, comparing them to patients who are brought directly from scene of injury to the MTC. It aims to identify if the outcomes are different in these populations as well as any consistent factors in these population, such as mechanism of injury, vital signs or need for immediate medical intervention.
Data will be taken from the anonymised Trauma Audit and Research Network Database.
