  • Research summary

Traditionally most of the knee replacements are done by mechanically aligned technique. In last 5-10 years , there has been interest in Anatomically ( kinematically ) aligned TKR.There are no guidelines on which technique is better, or should be preferred. However both the techniques have been found to be safe and practiced worldwide. Most of the knee replacements done today are mechanically aligned. Kinematically aligned is relatively a new technique and can be performed by conventional jigs, patient specific jigs or using navigation based technique. We propose that KA TKR can be perfomed using computer navingation technique.
