Research summary
We are seeking to develop an immune−based therapy for human cancer whereby patients are injected with large numbers of immune cells called T cells, that are capable of seeking out and destroying the tumour. Such T cells can be present in the bloodstream of cancer patients and healthy individuals but are rare and often difficult to grow in the laboratory. The current project, which will be carried out entirely in the laboratory, explores new methods to generate such cancer−specific T cells.
