Research type
Research Study
Full title

Research summary
Patients undergoing routine caloric irrigations in a vestibular (balance function assessment) clinic to test their balance organ function will have their eye movements (nystagmus - a measure of balance organ function) recorded for slightly longer than usual, until their nystagmus has reached a minimal level (defined as less than or equal to 2 degrees/second above their baseline). The data will be analysed to provide normative data and will compare the slow phase velocity measurement to the duration of the response.
