Data collection arrangements
Routinely collected clinical data will be stored. Each collaborating organisation will collect data from clinical systems used in their routine patient care.
Each organisation will collate data in an internal data warehouse according to the NIHR HIC data specification, or data model. The local data warehouse will store information in an identifiable form, and will have the capabilities to de- identify data according to NIHR HIC approved guidelines prior to it being shared for use in research. The de-identified version is for use in research and shared with the central research database, via Labkey.Research programme
In 2015-16, NHIR HIC Colorectal Cancer theme was identified as an additional theme for the NIHR HIC programme. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) BRC, which agreed to lead the Colorectal Cancer project; the theme involves Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT), University College London Hospitals NHS Trust (UCLH) BRC, Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (RMH), Kings College Hospitals NHS Trust (KCH), Manchester Hospitals BRC, Leeds NHS Hospital Trust, Guys and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), Birmingham University's Hospitals BRC, to join the project. All sites are collecting data against a prescribed dataset of routinely collected data.
