Data collection arrangements
LRSH obtains extracts of a number of established NHS datasets relating to patients who have been treated in NHS Lothian. These data extracts are from NHS Scotland National Databases and clinical systems and contain routinely collected data on individuals accessing the relevant service. LRSH also hosts a number of bespoke health and clinical collections, study datasets and registers. These datasets are retained within NHS Lothian IT systems within a secure setting.
Research programme
LRSH hosts or seeks access to a range of health-related datasets that are of interest to researchers from a wide range of topic areas. LRSH assists researchers in gaining access to de-identified extracts of the data within a secure environment where the risks to privacy and confidentiality are minimised.
