Research summary
The research is a low risk activity and interview based study involving children with a sibling with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), seeking their opinion on what it is like having a brother or sister with ASD. \n\nChildren who wish to participate will be given cameras (and instruction) and asked to take photos in their own time, over a period of time, in order for them to answer this question, before returning for an individual interview with the researcher to discuss the photos they have taken, and what they mean to them. \nThe interviews will then be analysed using thematic analysis, and the children themselves will be given the opportunity to work together to put their own photos into group themes by attending an optional group session with the researcher. \n\nThe project will culminate in a celebration event, with all families involved invited, where children will be presented with a book of their photos.
