Samples of blood, stool, urine, saliva, skin swabs and digestive system tissue from clinical procedures will be collected and stored. Samples may be fresh or preserved and may be processed to separate blood serum, plasma and cell types and extract metabolites, DNA or RNA.
Basic demographic data will be recorded (including ethnicity, smoking and alcohol status). Medical information will also be documented (diagnosis, treatment and outcome).
Researchers are not permitted to re-contact participants to obtain further samples or data.
Samples/tissue will be stored within the Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, under University of Nottingham HTA licence: 12265.Research programme
Researchers within The Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/research/groups/giandliverdiseases/index.aspx) and NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (https://nottinghambrc.nihr.ac.uk/) and collaborators, will be able to request samples following review by access committee.
