Research summary
Dural arteriovenous fistulae (dAVF) are rare but potentially devasting vascular lesions. The natural history and management of such lesions is poorly understood largely due to their rarity and the subsequently small number of cases each specialist centre treats. We have established an international consortium to facilitate pooled data analysis using data from multiple centres that will better inform clinicians understanding of this condition. The Wessex Neurological Centre has a neurovascular database that has routinely collected baseline data on neurovascular cases for clinical management and audit since 1992. We will identify cases of dAVF managed in our centre since 1992 from this database and submit anonymised data to the consortium for pooled analysis.
