Data collection arrangements
The samples and data that that is accrued from patients who give fully informed consent to clinical teams within NHS Genomic Laboratory Hubs. Other cohorts outside of those obtained via the Genomic Medicines Service may also be included e.g participants via extensions to the Devolved Nations 100,000 Genomes Project programmes, or other research opportunities. DNA and samples is stored locally in GLHs and made available for research if surplus to clinical requirement. The access to these samples is governed by a joint committee between NHS England and Genomics England
Research programme
Medical and scientific (and defined other) research programmes will be able to apply to use data and/or samples stored by the National Genomic Research Library in accordance with our Data Access and Acceptable Uses Policy and terms of the fully informed consent.
