Research summary
This project aims to identify novel therapeutics targets and biomarkers for muscle wasting conditions in the overall context of frailty, including sarcopenia, using cutting-edge lond-read single-cell sequencing. Muscle wasting, common in aging and various diseases, currently lacks approved treatmentsand reliable biomarkers. Given muscle's complexity, traditional sequencing methods fail to capture key molecular variations. The sponsor's proprietary technology enables a more comprehensive analysis of muscle tissue from healthy and diseased donors, significantly expanding the potential target space. By integrating advanced machine learning, the study seeks to uncover critical molecular changes and correlate them with blood-based biomarkers, paving the way for improved diagnostics and interventions
