Research summary
Presbyopia is s a condition associated with aging in which the eye exhibits a progressively diminished ability to focus on near objects. When correcting presbyopia with contact lenses, multifocal designs are used to correct vision at far,
intermediate and near distances. The optimization of visual performance with simultaneous vision contact lenses involves the biasing of the dominant eye for distance vision and the non-dominant eye for intermediate and near vision. The purpose of this study is to select the lens power combinations that best achieve optimal distance vision in the dominant eye and intermediate/near vision in the non-dominant eye using two multifocal lens designs.REC name
