Research summary
The Cambridge NIHR BioResource holds genetic and general health information on 18,000 individuals. Despite an expected prevalence of musculoskeletal conditions of approximately 20%, only 10 individuals listed osteoarthritis as a pre-existing health problem.
We wish to determine the true level of musculoskeletal symptoms in this group. We will ask all active members of the Cambridge NIHR BioResource to take part. They will be invited to complete a questionnaire about any musculoskeletal medical problems they may have and fill out a questionnaire about symptoms.
We will then obtain previously collected genetic information about participants from the BioResource, along with information such as sex and past medical history.
