What are the Children and young people's (CYP) , parents’ and Staff perception of acceptability of delivery of mouth care and prevention interventions in the Emergency Department (ED) at Alder Hey?
Explore with CYP and parents attending ED whether they would find it acceptable to:
1. Receive oral health screening as part of initial assessment.
2. Receive preventative oral health interventions and advice from staff working in ED.
3. Receive mouth care packs -including toothbrush toothpaste and information on oral health and signpost to resources.
4. Gain feedback on the development of educational resources for CYP and parents to educate on oral health and how to care for mouth and prevent oral health disease such as tooth decay.
Explore with staff to gain insight and acceptability of:
1. Providing oral health screening as part of initial assessment.
2. Providing Oral health advice.
3. Providing mouth care pack.
4. To gain feedback from staff on the development and use of educational resources available for all CYP and parents to educate on oral health and how to care for mouth.
