Research summary
This application is for one of two studies which use the same baseline data. Overall, the project encorporating the two studies is to explore parenting experiences in the context of caring for a child with a chronic health condition.\n\nParenting stress and parenting style have been found to mediate the relationship between mindful parenting and child quality of life. However, the impact of mindful-parenting on child quality of life is unknown in parent-child relationships where the child has a chronic health condition. This study will use a prospective survey design to investigate whether the relationship between trait mindful parenting and child quality of life is mediated by parenting stress and parenting style. Parents of children with diabetes, asthma or epilepsy will complete online questionnaires at two time points. The findings of the mediation analysis will inform the limited evidence base in this context.
