Research summary
Summary of Research
This is an open label experimental medicine positron emission tomography (PET) study designed to evaluate the regional availability of synaptic glycoprotein 2A (SV2A), mitochondrial complex 1 (MC1) and sigma-1 receptor (1R) in the brain of patients with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Up to 12 patients will take part in the study.
The study will be conducted at the Imanova Centre for Imaging Sciences (Imanova Ltd) located at the Hammersmith Hospital site and University College London (UCL). Subjects will be recruited from the UCL DRC research registry (who have consented to investigator retention of their personal information for the purposes of being contacted about research opportunities). Subjects will undergo screening at UCL or Imanova and if they pass screening will attend Imanova for up to three study visits. All imaging procedures will be performed at Imanova.
Summary of Results
We expect to produce an abstract or paper draft within the next 6 months, so the results are not yet available.
