    MIMICH II is the follow up study to MIMICH trial, and will recruit the mothers who took part in MIMICH and their children to answer the questions: (1) In infants born to women with poor cardiometabolic health, what is the impact of metformin on early postnatal growth and metabolic function? (2) does maternal exposure to metformin during pregnancy improve maternal cardiometabolic health status 1 year after pregnancy? \n\nThe research will comprise of two study visits at 3 - 6 months and 1 year; where physical measurements (height, weight & skinfold thickness) will be taken from the mother and baby, along with fasting research blood samples from the mother at both visits, and the babies at the 1 year visit (with parental consent).
