  • Data collection arrangements

The master database will be held on a restricted folder on a secure intranet drive held on trust computers. The only persons who will have access to this folder will be designated consultants from the colorectal multidisciplinary team, and the data custodian. This database will be encrypted and password protected. No person provided access to identifiable data from the database will be permitted to export identifiable data from trust servers, either in electronic or printed form.
For analysis by wider members of the multidisciplinary team, only fully anonymised data will be provided from the database. This will be held on a separate secure folder on trust servers, and will be password-protected with a separate password to the main database.
If further data is required to be collected by wider members of the colorectal MDT, then team members will only be provided minimal identifying data sufficient to collect the requisite data, but no access to the full database. The data controller will then merge new data into the master database. Fully anonymised data can then be provided to the researcher within the multidisciplinary team to address the research question.
