Research summary
The aims of this study are to (1) survey adults with an ASD diagnosis, and relatives about their experience of current NHS autism diagnostic services for adults and older people; (2) survey health professionals who contribute to diagnosis of ASD in adults, about current NHS ASD diagnostic care pathways and service provision; (3) pilot self-report and informant versions of a new diagnostic interview for ASD in adults (the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults or ACIA).
The findings will provide NHS clinicians and policymakers with evidence based information on best ways to provide ASD diagnostic and post-diagnostic services for adults. This information will therefore also benefit people with ASD and their relatives.REC name
