Research summary
This research aims to find out about men's experiences of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in improving access to psychological therapy (IAPT) services in North East Lincolnshire. The purpose is to take the information gained and use it to publicise services and tailor treatment plans to help other men feel they can use these services. Historically men are under-represented in mental health services and suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Men who have successfully completed CBT treatment through IAPT in the North East Lincolnshire area will be contacted with the aim of completing an interview approximately an hour long to obtain information about their experiences. The interviews will be conducted in the participants' homes or at the local IAPT service offices.
