Research summary
Clinicians report that it is problematic when young people diagnosed with ADHD do not comply with their ADHD medication (Thiruchelvam et. al, 2001). Therefore it would be useful to demonstrate to this population that their ADHD medication does work. This could be done by using the QbTest. The QbTest is an FDA-cleared device used for assessing the three core symptoms of ADHD (hyperactivity, inattention and impulsivity; Asherson et. al, 2005). The Qb test helps healthcare professionals to more accurately identify /rule out ADHD as well as monitor long-term changes in symptoms over time. As a result of disengagement, many young people with ADHD are lost to services at a very critical time.
